The journey of the Departnent of Bengali of Lalbaba College started from the establishment of this College in 1964 AD.At present this department is considerd as one of the most important department of the college. This department has been conducting Honours & General courses in Bengali Language & Literature in both Day & Morning sections as per the affiliation & recognition of The University of Calcutta.Presently under the supervision of nine professors are in the teaching-learning process of this Department is on the way of progression. A large number of alumni of this department are well-established in various fields in the country & abroad.

DEPARTMENTAL FACILITIES

Students are the main strength of the department. Teachers student cordial relation is the main strength of the department. Students of the department are encourage to take active part in the social work and cultural activities. Students play major roll in cultural activity and Bengali Department play very active roll in cultural programme. The students pass out rate is very high. Maximum students of the college are the students of Bengali Department. Students participate in several programme in the college. They take active parts in the seminars and cultural activities. Students assisted to the teachers to publish wall magazines. They are also participating in quize, recitation, story telling competition which are organized by the department.
