About

Lalbaba college is a co-educational non-government grant-in-aid type degree college and is affiliated to the University of Calcutta, one of the prestigious institutions of higher learning in Eastern India.  The college was founded on August 5, 1964 by opening B.Com(Hons) by Lalbaba Trust of the locality and the first class started in the evening shift within the Rashbari area before erecting its own building. The commerce department is the oldest and largest  department of the college. The college has received UGC recognition under 2f of UGC in August 1965. It has gone for NAAC Accreditation in 2004 and has received B+ Grade with an institutional score of 78%. As a conglomeration of more than one thousand five hundred students in the department of commerce (both morning and day section), nurtured by seventeen faculty members , the department has grown into a seminary of modern learning over the years.
